Wagoner is a city in and the county seat of Wagoner County, Oklahoma. Wagoner began as a small railroad community in 1887, and when Henry “Big Foot” Wagoner, a local railroad dispatcher, reported the need for a railroad switch in the town, the town soon became a major hub for cattle shipping.
