Graves McLain Delivers Free Backpacks to Every Student at McLain 7th Grade Academy

August 16th, 2017

This year’s Graves McLain Backpack Program is in full swing! The program’s first event kicked off on August 8th when volunteers from All Souls Church and Graves McLain Law Firm banded together to stuff 166 brand new free backpacks full of school supplies.

All 166 of the backpacks were stuffed with school supplies needed to start the year off right. Notebooks, folders, glue, binders, and more! Backpacks were donated by Graves McLain Law Firm and Oklahoma Association for Justice members.

Needed school supplies were supplied by All Souls Unitarian Church thanks to a grant from The Frank Foundation.

Saturday, August 12th, students of McLain 7th Grade Academy and their families attended the annual Open House introducing the students to their new school. During the Open House assembly, Principle Tarsha Guillory let the students know that they were all receiving a brand-new backpack filled with school supplies.

Parents and students were delighted with this news. Attorney Chad McLain, of Graves Mclain Law Firm, spoke to all the students about the importance of education and wanted all of the students to know how much the community believes in them and their incredible potential.

Another assembly speaker was KTUL ABC 8’s reporter Maureen Wurtz and Police Officer Leland Ashley, who also provided some inspirational words of support and motivation to the students. All of the speakers did an amazing job and we thank them for their time and contribution to this very special community program.
